Dermal Fillers refer to products that are injected beneath the skin to restore volume and smooth lines. They can be used to plump your lips, lift your cheeks, and add volume to help provide a more youthful appearance.
At Rejuvenate MKE, we only use FDA approved dermal fillers that are made of hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a safe, naturally occurring substance that delivers nutrients to the skin & helps retain hydration, softness, & volume.
We understand that dermal fillers may be new to some of our clients, so we have included some basic information to help you understand what you can expect at your treatment. Your first visit includes a free consultation, where you can meet with our injector and have your questions answered.

What type of dermal fillers does Rejuvenate MKE provide?
Rejuvenate MKE currently offers the Restylane line from Galderma.
Why should you consider receiving your dermal filler injections at Rejuvenate MKE?
Dermal filler injections at Rejuvenate MKE are performed by a board certified nurse practitioner who is certified in performing dermal filler injections. You can feel assured that your injector is a dedicated professional and focused on delivering safe, high quality care.
What should you expect at your visit?
Your injector will first perform a free consultation with you, which will include a review of your medical history and an assessment of your facial anatomy. Together, your injector will work with you to provide you with a customized treatment plan. This plan is based on your concerns as well as your injector’s expertise, to help deliver you the highest quality results.
Your skin will be cleansed and a numbing cream will be applied. After your skin has been thoroughly numbed, your skin will be cleansed once more and your procedure will begin. The total length of visit is typically between 60-90 minutes, depending on the areas being treated.
Does Rejuvenate MKE offer any rewards or discounts on dermal filler treatments?
Yes!
Galderma offers ASPIRE Rewards for its Restylane products, including a $20 off reward to be used on your first visit.
What should you expect post-treatment?
Rejuvenate MKE has several recommendations to follow after your treatment, including:
- Avoid pressure to the face/head for 24 hours.
- Avoid anything that causes flushing of or increased circulation to the face for 24 hours, including exercise, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, etc.
- Avoid other facial treatments such as peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, light therapy/BBL, photofacial, etc. for 14 days. You should avoid laser treatments or ablative therapy for 6 weeks after your filler treatment.
- You should avoid having dental appointments for 2 weeks after your treatment.
- Keep upright for four hours after the injections. Avoid lying down during this time.
- Change your pillow case before going to bed the day your injections are performed.
- Avoid applying any make up for 24 hours after injections.
- Avoid using retinol for 2 days after your injections.
- If you have headaches take Tylenol. Avoid NSAIDS (including ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, and aspirin).
This list is not all inclusive. You will be provided with a complete list of post-treatment instructions, and your injector will review these with you.
How long does it take for the dermal filler results to take effect? When will you see results?
We encourage patients to wait at least 14 days before they evaluate their dermal filler results, to ensure all bruising and swelling has resolved. We recommend follow-up in our clinic approximately 21-30 days after treatment.
How long do the results from dermal fillers last?
Results last 9-18 months, on average, but may be a little shorter or a little longer, depending on your metabolism and the areas being treated.
How should you prepare for your treatment?
When you book your appointment, you will receive an intake questionnaire and clinic policy information. You should complete this paperwork before your treatment, as your injector will review it with you at the time of your service.
You should come to your appointment with a clean, dry face. If you are wearing makeup, you will be required to remove it.
You should avoid receiving treatment within 4 weeks of a special event, such as a wedding, or if you will be unavailable for follow-up (for example, if you are traveling). This is because dermal filler can take 14-21 days to achieve its full effect, and may require refinement. You should not plan to have any dental work performed within 14 days after your treatment, to reduce risk of infection.
If you are prone to bruising and bleeding, you should take arnica 5 days prior to treatment. You should avoid taking NSAIDs (including aspirin, ibuprofen, and Aleve) for 48-72 hours prior to your appointment.
What type of follow-up is required after your appointment?
You are strongly encouraged to return to the clinic 21-30 days after your treatment for evaluation of the results and refinement, as necessary. Follow-up must be performed during this timeframe, to ensure the dermal filler has had time to take full effect and all swelling and bruising has resolved.
Who should not receive dermal filler treatment?
You may not be a good candidate if:
- You have an active infection for which you are taking antibiotics or antivirals
- You are actively receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy
- You have a skin infection at the planned site of injection
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- You are currently taking steroids
- You have an allergy to bee stings or bee venom
This list is not all inclusive. Your injector will thoroughly review your health history and contraindications with you prior to your treatment.
Can any other services be done at the same time as my dermal filler treatment?
Yes! You can achieve facial balancing and full face rejuvenation by receiving neurotoxin injections at the same visit as your dermal fillers.
